Son of a Preacher Man

  • June 19th, 2009 12:11 am

Allie arrived home from Bible School tonight fueled by anti-satan songs about bushels, and also full of things to say.  Perhaps the most classic of the comments that came out of her mouth is the following,

I mean, Bible School was okay.  But honestly Mom, all those people wanted to do was talk about God.  I wanted to play! Let’s talk about playing!

I laughed for a minimum of five minutes, because honestly, it was the same problem I had with bible school as a child and the same problem I have with a lot of things.

But in order to make me sad and to show off that I have been using my camera, as I promised myself. I am presenting pre Bible School pictures from 2008 & 2009.  Oh, how she’s grown.

no idea what is up with her eyes. She's still lovely, though.

It must be genetic?

pierced ears and pretty freckles!

no idea what she's doing. Maybe some weird church signal I never learned?

Yes, it’s called “hide the horns”.
She is getting so big! I’m still cracking up at her comment. She is way too smart.

She is so freaking cute. Love her hair and freckles.

My oldest goes to her third VBS in July. Our neighbor is the minister of music at their church and we were “lucky” (cough) to receive a copy of the official music and she sang the songs ad nauseum all summer long. ;)

They’re devil horns. To go with the red satan eyes in the first picture.

    In all seriousness, she’s gorgeous.

How fast they grow! The red eye thing is due to her having light eyes – I’m the same way with my light blue eyes, even the ‘red-eye’ feature on cameras still leaves me with devil eyes, lol. You are best to not use a flash, or use a flash that is not mounted on a camera (yeah, I know, it’s impossible, but that is what is recommended, lol). Try sitting her in a window with the light shining on her face and that should help :)
The bible camp comment was hilarious, I used to think the same thing. I think they really need to balance that stuff, or they are never going to get the attention spans of the kids ever again :s

My little ones are going to bible camp in a few weeks. I can’t wait to see how it goes. And my little girl totally has that same purple halter top! Love it!

    What a cutie!
I guess it’s better she’d rather play than just quote bible verses all day long.

Z goes to Sunday School with her nana while I stay home and sleep..I’m just not down with being the unwed mother in church, which is pretty much how her nana introduces me to her ‘people’. But she spends her days patting bibles and yelling for “Jeez” (aka Jesus) @ just a year old..she’s learning something there..

Your daughter is so adorable but the ornery look is so there!
