I really wanted to take a bloggy break this week. However, I have a lot of obligations to the internet for the week. So I’ll be writing this week, but next week, I am totally taking a break. I need one. I’m not sure that I have taken one since I started blogging in July 2007 at my tiny little wordpress hosted blog. The second I take my bloggy break, I am sure I will think of tons of things to post about. That is usually what happens. I hope it does. I really like it here, and I don’t want to lose that.
Anyway, on to bigger and better things:
One project I just finished, that I will post about this week, is the facial reconstruction I had to give AFF’s beloved Carl SanDiego.
I robbed this picture from Marmite and Tea, because my camera is lost.
When he was mailed to me to enjoy local scenery, his face sort of fell off. So I’ve been working on it for a while now. I’ve had him forever, but I’ve been sucking at life. The lovely face you see in the picture above is no more. It fell off. I had to make him a new man. So his reconstruction kept getting pushed back, and I’m sure that AFF is missing her Carl. As is the next person who is supposed to receive him. But I finished it today! And you will see pictures later this week after I take them with my mother’s camera. (Because while busy sucking at life, I TOTALLY LOST MY CAMERA!)
Maria was my bloggy swap buddy. She sent two awesome shirts from threadless to me. One for Allie, one for me. They are fabulous, snarky, and I just love them. Allie and I argue every morning over what she will wear to school. However, after she received this shirt, it is all she wanted to wear. I need to take pictures of the shirts to post, but like I said, I’ve been sucking at life lately. sucking pretty hard. So in due time, you will see some photos. So hard that I have no idea where my camera is, have taken no pictures lately, and snagged the one of Carl from Marmite and Tea.
Also, I recently received an awesome CD from Denise. One of my favorite things about the offer for this CD was that she told me if I didn’t like it, I could use it as a coaster. Which was awesome, because I really do use CD’s that I don’t like as coasters. However, I LOVED it. Her husband and his group put out this awesome CD for children. It’s sort of folky. The songs are probably some that you’ve probably heard before, but they sound so great. It’s also soothing. Allie and I love it. You can check it out here. If you love finding music that you can listen to with your children, this is it. I’m serious. It’s not like some of those CD’s you purchase for kids where the whole time you listen to it you are contemplating stabbing yourself in the ear with a sword. I can not go on enough about how great it is. I love listening to it. You have to go check it out. (Also Denise tossed in some post-its for me. YAY!! Between the mailing me and awesome CD, post-its, and her having a boatload of children, I’ve sort of taken her up as a personal hero.)
Also, Texan Mama mailed an awesome mixed CD to me with Mom songs. I’ve been listening to it, and I love it! Thank you so much. I love getting things in the mail.
So like I said, life is kicking my ass. But I still have two arms, two legs, and all of my senses (except the mental sort). So I’m doing fine. Has it kicked yours recently or are you doing just fine?

OMG you are speaking my language sister. This past week I started posting about the No Child Left Behind legislation. Basically I didn’t know squat about it so as I learned, I schooled my readers. I have done no less than 10 hours of research this week. My husband keeps saying, “Tell me again why you’re doing this?” I’m all, “To make my readers smarter! To better the world!!!” and of course all he can say is, “And the pile of laundry? And the bills? and the clogged toilet?” Okay, not a clogged toilet, but can I share… skid marks. Not pretty. My responsibility.
Blogging looks much more fun, no?

Aw, all those presents sound lovely!
Enjoy your bloggy break, hopefully you’ll think of stuff to blog about — I have the opposite problem — I have too many blogs in archives waiting to be posted.

Life is constantly kicking my arse. I had to move 700 miles away from my husband this week. It is a temporary 9 month move for my job, and I am going to visit him every other weekend. But man does it suck.
Enjoy your bloggy break! Hope to see you back soon!

Take care of yourself and when you get a chance look back at what you have created on this site. You can be proud of that.
And get some sleep. That’s where the creativity comes from- a rested mind.

Like I told ya, I’m running on empty, which is making me sniffle. And, who knew we both started in July 07? Funny, eh? I’m hoping to jump start the creative juices & then I’ll let you know about guest posting. I can’t wait to see how the plastic surgery on Carl went. No wonder he’s been MIA – plastic takes a long time to recover from!

If ‘life kicking my ass’ means “I don’t want to pay my bills” then, yes, that would be true.
