I Heart My Body Day: The Nose

Kelly issued a very inspiring challenge yesterday. Those responding are supposed to,
“Take a picture of a part of your body that you have been critical of in the past.
Paste that picture on your blog; do it with pride.
Tell the world all the reasons you love it.”
For the longest time, I hated my nose. It was the bane of my existence as a youngster. I went to bed stressing out about my nose, and I woke up doing just the same. At that time, I was almost positive the sun was rising and setting in tune with my internal hate clock.
Luckily, I have since come to terms with it. It might not be Kelly Ripa’s awesome nose. But it’s mine. And I love it. Plus, it was homemade (by my very own DNA), and in this day and age, that is a bonus.
I’ve come to terms with it since then. Here it is (highlighted by a deformed pink rectangle in case anyone can’t find it..haha):
You should go participate too. If you do decide to participate visit Kelly at the link above to let her know, and keep it clean. Nobody wants to see your labia. Well, no one visiting for the challenge purposes. But judging by everyone’s google analytics searches these days, i’m sure someone might visit just for the other purpose. haha!

Oh look how sassy you are! I’m not a big fan of my nose either. It has a nice freckle at the end of it that I absolutely despise. But I don’t think I’m going to take a picture to display to the world. I’m all about accentuated the positive. So I’m going to go find a picture of my flat belly when I was 18 and totally play it off like it’s still mine today. Just don’t tell anyone.

Noses are one of those things that if it’s not perfect then you are obsessed with it. I can’t stand my nose in straight on pics, but I’ve learned to pose with my head turned slightly to the right and it changes the whole thing. Tyra would be proud of my fierceness.

I’d have to reconcile with my chin…but it’s hard to find beneath the chin hair and it’s kinda disappearing underneath my growing waddle…

I used to think that my nose was too big. And then I realized that it wasn’t my excess of nose so much as my lack of a chin that was the real problem.

I think it is a fine nose. When I was a teenager we did the ‘If you could have plastic surgery, what would you do’ game and I always chose my nose. They are easy to dislike.

Oh, dear. Now someone’s gonna find you via a labia search. I think noses give character. I’ve never been overly fond of mine, but I agree. That DNA thing wanted it to look that way, so whatever, right?

First of all – thanks for introducing me to this challenge – I think it’s great!
And you’re nose is fabulous! Seriously – it fits you and that’s a good thing! I have often wondered about my nose myself, but it’s my dad’s nose! How could I want anything different? And someday, I might pass my nose on to my kids, so I have to love it.

itsa’ cute nose! It’s funny how we can be so overly critical about parts of ourselves when we’re younger. When we get older the light bulb suddenly goes on and we realize no one else but ourselves actually gave a damn. Yeah.. there’s some nice things about getting older.
