Three zits and a little lady

  • July 24th, 2009 11:34 pm

So I never had acne.  Up until today, I’ve probably had ten zits in my whole life.  Before you punch me, let tell you that I do have freakish skin allergies that randomly make my eyes swell shut; so actually, I feel like that cancels out the acne deal.  Please don’t punch me.

Anyway, I woke up recently with huge zits on my face. Monster zits.  The sort that they display on acne commercials to make you feel sorry for the kids in the before pictures.  I have three of those zits.  Two on the right side of my mouth and one on the left side.  It honestly looks like I have tiny volcanoes on my face, and they are moments away from rupturing. Also, they hurt!

While I’m chatting away about something as disgusting as the zits on my face, I’ll go ahead and say that it is probably great that I don’t have a face full of them, because I am a picker.  I can’t help it.  If it’s on my face, I’m picking it. If for some reason I have a scab, you better believe I am practicing all sorts of self-discipline to keep myself from hacking the shit out of it.  Don’t act like you don’t pick, either.  I see you!

Zits aside, if you are still reading, I’m going to start updating my blog regularly again. The reasons I haven’t been are honestly ridiculous and things I don’t want to type out or explain. If I could, I would’ve been regularly updating. But from now on, I promise regular updates.  If not,  you can punish me.  Also, thank you to all that emailed to see if I was okay. I am.

Oh! and another large piece of awesome?  I bought my ticket for BlogHer 2010 in NYC. Oh yes I did.

PS. I’m no longer titling my posts after songs, because while I thought I was being original, I was unintentionally copying off of the awesome Jonniker (read her, if you aren’t already).   So from now on, I’m making them a play on words from movies, television or any other sort of popculture.

OMG. I have the hugest zit on my lip right now. Yesterday, it started BLEEDING (picking, yup, that’s me) so I ended up putting neosporin on it, plus a DORA BANDAID. I was home alone working so nobody saw me… but still. I looked Hawt.

Today it looks much less threatening, so yay for that. But I’m just like: DUDE. I’m 30. Not 13. WTF.

I had a zit on the bottom lid OF MY EYE last week. It swelled and hurt and everything from it. Kinda hard to pick that one, but I do pick any other ones I may get.

I was also gloriously zit-free my entire life. (I had horrible, horrible eczema as a child, instead.)

Then I turned 30, and since my birthday it’s been all zits all the time. The thing about never having had adolescent acne is that I don’t know the first thing about dealing with zits.

You’ve been missed! Glad you’re back.

I used to get the obligatory one or two zits when Aunt Flo arrived; otherwise, my skin was pretty much the only thing that ever garnered compliments.

    WAS.

When I turned 27, my skin shit the bed: blackhead, zits, cystic acne (ow ow ow!), pores big enough you could drive a truck in ‘em. To make matters worse, I spent damn near a year throwing every product I could get my hands on at my face (but never long enough to see if they would make a difference).

Four years and much trial-and-error later, my skin is *mostly* under control (however, the pores are still the size of my ass — ginormous). That being said, I’m a picker, too. And I *know* picking is bad and I *know* it makes it worse and I *know* it takes longer to heal and I *know* it could leave scars, but it’s something I do subconsciously, and often (or MORE often) when I’m stressed or worried (ahem, ALWAYS). I should get the gel nails put back on. I couldn’t pick to save my life with those suckers! lol

Looking forward to more bloggy goodness!

I too was one of those assholes who didn’t ever have acne. I HAD great skin! GREAT EFFING SKIN! And then I got knocked up! I looked like a meth addict when Danger was in the womb! With this second pregnancy it hasn’t been anywhere close to as bad leaving me looking like a pubescent teenager rather than hardcore meth user but still not my skin of golden years!

Also I burn like a muthafucker these days too! Crazy what babies can do to you! Maybe you are knocked up! It would explain everything!

I have been a touch and go acne person. I pick and pop, so I generally have a scab or two, but judge me and you’ll get 5 zits of your own :)

When treating zits, just make sure that all of your skin care products are of the same company. In Mary Kay, we propose this: If you are baking a cake, you wouldn’t go into your cookbook and throw together ingredients from 5 different cakes would you? So why would you do that to your face?

Just a bit of advice :) If you use Clean & Clear, stick with that, don’t use that along with Neutrogena… bad things may happen.

I was free of zits through those dreaded teen years too only to find myself with acne when I hit my 30’s! Maybe I’ll see you at BlogHer ‘10 then — can’t believe they are selling tix already!

I’m a total picker too. It’s awful. I actually have to sit on my hands when I’m watching TV or reading. I don’t really get zits; i get these odd sores that are sorta like shingles, and they take 7000 years to heal (or longer, since I pick). And they hurt!
Blogher ‘10! I’m going too!!! Squeeeeeee! I am sooo stalking you.
