Whiner, Winer, Whiner.

  • August 10th, 2008 12:07 am

Edit: Other things that suck: Since writing this, my Dell laptop that is now out of warranty died and went to laptop heaven after its umpteenth go ’round with computer AIDS.  No AC, No laptop..life is stank right now.

(disclaimer: i do realize that a broken laptop and no AC are not the worst things in the world)

Moments ago I sat down under the false notion that I would write a post that has been  floating around in my head for some time. Instead, I was greeted by the wafting heat in my house.

Apparently, our Air Conditioning system has decided to render itself useless.  Which would be awesome if it was winter, but it isn’t.  It decided to break down in the hellish part of a piping hot Southeastern Kentucky summer where the heat and humidity are sure to swallow you if you fail to run for cover. Obviously, I have failed.

So now I am in the middle of my living room half nekkid and basking in the heat while watching roughly my 100th viewing of  Pride & Prejudice and feeding my Diet Pepsi addiction.

Please join me in complaining. What is keeping you down right now? And if you have no complaints, perhaps you could suggest what I should get my husband for his upcoming birthday. I’m out of ideas.  He golfs, plays  sports related video games, and is very business oriented.  I’ll take any and all suggestion.  And any and all complaints.

    Ha!

Happy b-day to the hubby. How about a manicure? Too many men fail to realize that fingernails are hot and are ashamed to give in. Manicured men hands rocks!

Let’s see, where to start? I have plenty of complaints to be aired.

#1) Isn’t a painkiller supposed to KILL the pain? Because it’s not. I still can’t move.

#2) Why oh why does school have to start back already, SO soon?!? August 25th is way too close for my liking. How about December? Or maybe we should just forget a semester.

#3) I can’t get comfortable, and my laptop is heating me up and making me feel like I live in the deep pits of the hottest regions of hell. Ugh. Maybe taking off the down comforter would help. SIGH.

Complaining is good for the soul once in awhile.

First for your hubby – sit in the living room half naked basking in the heat more often. Maybe just wear a smile. What guy doesnt want/need more of that? ;)

    Top 5 up-to-the-minute whine items:
    1) Beer isn’t diet food
    2) It’s hot as hell in TX and only getting hotter
    3) My grass won’t die, no matter what I do I still have to mow.
    4) Saw the comment above and realized my nails aren’t manicured. Didn’t realize that was hot on a guy… actually didn’t realize I had nails till just now.
    5) Approx 36 hours till I go back to work and pretend to be a professional.

I have complaints coming out the yin yang but that’s what MY blog is for.

Okay, what about supplies to go with the sport related games. Like, if he could play Madden online and tell 12 years olds to eat his **** (I meant dust), it gets exponentially funner. Or so I’ve heard.

Other than that, I say go pure cheese/free/man show. Make his favourite (afterhours) dinner in his favourite outfit (or lack thereof), give him gift certificates for his favourite ‘things to do’ and let him basically be a kind, waited on by you. Beer him everytime it’s empty, give him a lapdance if he asks for it. Hell, don’t even go for fresh air, ALL NIGHT LONG.

The best gift I ever gave my husband was last year on Christmas Eve morning. I let him sleep as late as he wanted – no hold barred. He slept till 12:45 in the afternoon. I think it was exactly what he wanted.

    Now, complaints…..
    1. No matter how much I try to budget, food keeps getting expensiver. Oh I mean more expensive.
    2. My vocabulary is the pits. I need help.
    3. I don’t have cable so I’m only gonna see about 20% of the Olympics.
    4. I have 6 stray dogs that keep peeing/pooping in my yard and tearing up our trash bags on trash day. My real complaint is that we can’t get our pellet gun out fast enough when they come around.
    That’s good for now!

I am super super tired but can’t sleep so I am watching the Raiders kick the 49ers butts in pre-season football at 2am.

My husband is still deployed and the time is dragging.

School starts for me in a week and a half, and I still don’t know if my financial aid has gone through yet.

If your hubby watches football and has a favorite team, I recommend getting a personalized jersey. I got my hubby one and he loves it! DO NOT buy it from the ESPN website, though. Check out the actual team website and compare prices!! I saved about $145 NOT buying from ESPN.

    Good luck!

    Complain, complain…
I am 37 yrs old, slightly over weight attention-starved mother of 2 boys who has now destroyed her chance to return to her high paced career since she turned down a huge job this week because she really wants to stay home with the kids and blog. Her husband doesn’t understand her and the only person who does (her mom) is going to die someday and leave her all alone on this planet. Oh and I bought a new car I hate and I moved my blog and regret it. My back hurts and I have insomnia.

Okay that felt good. I never ever ever complain about ME.

I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago! Suddenly my air conditioner started to sound like there was a large animal stuck in it, I thought perhaps it was frozen inside so I turned it off. Turned it back on after I couldn’t take the heat anymore and it sounded the same. I decided that I didn’t care anymore, left it on, and a few minutes later it stopped working completely. Made me a very sad woman. We had a spare in the closet; yes, a spare, so it wasn’t too horrible, but I thought I was going to die for the few days I couldn’t drag it out of the closet alone and the boyfriend decided we were wasting electricity anyway–Although I still think he was just being lazy.

Give him a a selection of gift cards that correspond with a date night. A gift certificate to his favorited drinking spot or coffee bar, a gift certificate to the movies and maybe to an adult store and get a babysitter to sit on the night he decides to use them. This will equal a date night for him and you will also enjoy the night unless he decides to bring someone else. lol
My only complaint is this cold that I can not get rid of.

And I’m hungry. But Mr. Hot is making a yummalicious dinner, so I can’t snack.

I can’t think of anything to post today – and I have two blogs to get posts ready for.

No one has vacuumed the living room this weekend – and they get pissy when I do it, so the vacuum is sitting in the living room (I know, I shouldn’t complain they don’t like it when I vacuum, but still!)

    Suggestions for hubby:
    - an iPhone
    - an iPod touch (no phone, but MP3, organizer, e-mail, etc – sort of like a palm)
    - a Wii (if he doesn’t have one yet)
    - the New Mario cart for Wii with at least 2 wheels
    - some nice clothes for when he goes to the Golf club: a Ralph Lauren polo shirt maybe?
    - a nice new brifcase, if he needs/uses one
    - a nice leather clipboard with a block, pockets for pens etc
