Feeding Trolls One at a Time

Recently, I’ve been plagued by an anonymous asshat. I vowed not to post about it, because posts like these only seem to make trolls thrive. Mine is clearly not in need of further growth. In fact, it may need to skip a meal or two. However, it seems that the person is only emailing me more and more.
A few weeks ago,someone started filling out my contact form with crude messages about my parenting and/or child.Of course, the person filled it out anonymously as most mindless, spineless trolling idiots are wont to do.The messages began when I posted a picture of Allie playing in her ghetto fabulous swimming pool wearing one of her bathing suits.The bathing suit in question happened to be a bikini.The bloodsucker apparently had a problem with this.The problem soon spiraled into general problems with me and my parenting.
I thought that at some point it would stop. They would get just as tired of hiding behind the name ‘Anonymous’, as I’ve been of reading their blatant bullshit. Because quite frankly, this person’s words are becoming an eyesore.
While I hate to feed the troll, when a person can’t even leave their name or email when they insult you, this is the only way to reply.
Dear Anonymous,
I find it disturbing that when insulting my parenting you can not even leave your name, email address, or blog address. I would gladly click over and contact you. In case you haven’t noticed, I don’t put a lot of stock in your opinion. And I’m sure I’m not alone in this.
You’ll be pleased to know that in the beginning, your comments did actually make me cranky. They made me suspicious.They made me upset. And for some crazy reason, they made me doubt myself.
Unfortunately, you’ll be crushed to know that as the frequency and voracity of your emails has increased, they no longer sting. At this point, they do not even matter.
If you have issues you truly want to discuss with me, leave a return email address. I’d be happy to negotiate your happiness. Because if you’re picking on some random person via the internet, I’m almost positive that happiness is what you need.
Furthermore, the fact that I let my daughter wear a bikini is not the worst thing in the world. It’s hardly even close. An example of an item closer to the worse thing in the world than the one you provided is the fact that people like you are allowed Oxygen and food.
Last but not least, I’m guessing that when you started the set of insults you wanted to generate a response of some sort. And apparently, your wish is my command. You got a response. Congratu-fucking-lations. Now, stop messaging me unless you want to include your name or a return email address.

You will find that this sort of behaivour is usually exhibited by very lonely, very angry amoeba that live in their mothers basements and are forced to collect her toe jam in jars to sell on Ebay.

What IS it with trolls lately? You, MommyPie and me…I know there are more, because I keep hearing the word everywhere. Is it troll season? Do I need to get a permit in order to take a shot at mine?
Whilst my email (ok, everyone is calling is hatemail) was pathetically amusing, what you’re receiving, the tone anyhow from what you’ve inferred, seems harassing.
But then again, welcome to the big time baby! Or so I’ve been told when we start getting emails like this, we’ve made it. Somehow that doesn’t comfort me much!

Trolls suck. There are ignorant people in the world who will never change or have anything less than an ignorant mindset. The best you can do is know in your heart that you are a good, loving parent and not let this particular troll’s blatent unhappiness suck away at your own happiness- they feed on that. Some people are just so stupid. Offering unsolicited (and apparently WRONG) parenting “advice” is just not something you do.
I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it again, the blogging community is awesome. It’s too bad there are those out there that ruin it for others.

My guess is that the troll takes issue with a bikini being a sex symbol and seeing a little girl wear one. A lot of today’s so called ‘fashion’ sexualizes little girls. I think that is sad. If that is their point…I totally get that. I won’t buy my daughter a bikini. BUT…
I don’t get not being willing to put it right out there with your name. That’s bull. If someone has an opinion and feels the need to share it they need to be brave enough to say who they are. Any piece of crap loser can make an anonymous comment. Have some spine anonymous. Own up or shut up.
