Kudos to you for saying it, girl!

My birth story is highly dramatic and twisted and I would never write about it because I feel the same way about them as you. I don’t even skim birth story post, I just move on. Same goes with that breast feeding stuff…move on, move on, move on.

What I hate is when women are standing around talking about it and they try to one up each other…

“I was in labor for 10 hours!”

“So what, I was in labor for 12!”

“Oh yeah, well I had my baby naturally without an epidural, epidurals are for sissies!”

“Well, I was forced to have the epidural due to complications, my baby had his cord wrapped around his neck!”

“So did mine, TWICE!”

That just bugs the shit outta me.

Heh – I don’t so much hate the birth stories as I hate the boring blogs. You know the ones I’m talking about – you feel the urge to keep reading them becaus ethey always comment on your blog, but their blog sucks? Yeah – those. I can’t stand ‘em.

I don’t mind them if they are short. I’m not real interested in minute by minute recaps, but a general story is good for me.

And eDrama? Are there really that many bloggers that don’t know the term eDrama? e….. drama…… like e meaning internet… sort of like email…. and drama… internet drama.

I suppose I could be wrong but that is my best guess.

I love birth stories, as long as they're happy. I can't read the sad ones or I'll be heart broken all day. LOL But then that's why I'm a doula, I just really like birth. Summers last blog post..Wall E Not So Eco-Friendly

My ‘babies’ are 22 and 20. I am so far removed from birth stories they make my eyes glaze over. So many of the people in our age group are having children or just had children… it makes me cringe whenever they start comparing stories.

Although sometimes I’ve made stuff up during these ’story times’, just making sure I outdo anybody there with either a) ease at which the kid shot outta my wahoo or b) the hours upon hours of excruciating labor while they doctors all stood around amazed at my stamina.

Come to think of it, this might be why we don’t have many friends. Go figure.
