Resolutions/Predictions:

  • January 1st, 2008 12:01 pm

Lots of people obviously make resolutions for this time of the year;however, I sort of have a problem with resolutions. They feel so cliche to me. I feel as if most people make resolutions with the knowledge that the likelihood of actually following through on all of them is rather null and void. I’ve decided that since I have beef with New Year’s resolutions, a prediction of if I will actually go through with the resolution should accompany each one. After all, if I am going to doubt resolutions..I owe myself an explanation.:)

Here it goes:

Resolution 1: Lose weight (the most cliche resolution EVER) in 3 month goals. January to March goal=20 lbs.

Prediction 1: This is one that will actually happen. I am rather determined as far as this goes.

———————————————————————-

Resolution 2: Exercise at least 4 times a week.

Prediction 2: eehh. Will indeed happen if you consider walking to the bathroom exercise. But if I am serious about Resolution 1, I must do this. MUST.

———————————————————————–

Resolution 3: Pick up more around my house as I go instead of waiting to pick everything up at one time.

Prediction 3: This has to happen in order for me to remain sane.

————————————————————————

Resolution 4:
Drink more water.

Prediction 4: Okay, Okay. I really hope I do this one all year. If so, I will allow myself to only drink Diet Pepsi in 2009. I kid…I kid.

————————————————————————

Resolution 5: Blog every day in 2008. After all, I paid for a domain and hosting. I should make the most of it.

Prediction 5: I’m always terribly optimistic about how much time I actually have. Particularly right now, when I’m out of school on break and home all day with Allie. However, when school is back in and I barely have any time, I’m not totally sure how this will go. Sometimes I spread myself too thin, I hope I can accomplish this without doing so. Anywho, at least if I do follow through, you will get to read several posts in which I bitch openly discuss my hatred for father time.

That’s all folks.

That’s about the same as me. The exercise thing is tough with it being winter and all my commuting but I want to at least lift some weights at home. Good for you, we’ll cheer each other on!

I refuse to make resolutions based on several years of not meeting them and getting depressed about it!!! But I like the way that you have broken it down into manageable parts, like the 3 month goals.

I might just have to try that!!!

    Best of luck to you!

Sounds like you got it all worked out this year. But I am gonna say something really cliche (and only because I am in a weird mood). Don’t doubt yourself so much. You can do it!!

Am I motivating you here or what?
